This site is dedicated to providing associates at law firms with an opportunity to speak out about law firm practices from an associate’s perspective. Too often, an incident occurs at a law firm–involving a partner, opposing counsel, secretary, or even a client–and the associate wonders, “Was that my fault?” “What just happened?” “Why did it occur and how did I find myself in this situation?”
Each week, a new topic will be posted, discussing an aspect of associate life. Topics will cover the full range of associate issues and concerns, from lack of mentoring to billable pressures to dealing with the impossible partner. Readers are invited to pose their own personal questions or stories relating to that topic, or respond to someone else’s questions. AssociateSpeak Author will also provide specific advice to noteworthy questions.
This site is not a GreedyAssociates bulletin board focused on associate salaries or salacious details about romances or affairs in the workplace. While compensation and law firm relationships will be covered in future weekly topics, the purpose of this website is to provide advice and analysis relating to a much broader range of specific subjects.
Thanks for visiting AssociateSpeak.
