This site is dedicated to providing associates at law firms with an opportunity to speak out about law firm practices from an associate’s perspective. At times, associates feel alone as they struggle to come to grips with or understand a particular incident involving a partner, another associate, a staff member, opposing counsel, or a client. AssociateSpeak is designed to give a voice to associates and their private thoughts, to allow them to reflect, analyze, and understand what is happening in an anonymous fashion.
Each week, a new topic will be posted, discussing an aspect of associate life. Topics will cover the full range of associate issues and concerns, from mentoring to billable pressures to dealing with a particular partner. These posts are designed to generate discussion and commentary. Readers are invited to pose their own personal questions or anecdotes relating to that topic, or respond to someone else’s questions. If you’d like to contact the author of AssociateSpeak directly, please e-mail associatespeak@gmail.com. Responses can take up to a week depending on volume.
Thanks for visiting AssociateSpeak.
